In 2019, entrants represented 43 wards and 76 neighborhoods. The gardens ranged from a beautifully designed parkway to a rooftop garden that yields more produce than most double lots to a farm on the lawn of a synagogue that provides food for their neighborhood’s soup kitchens. We would like to congratulate the winners and all who participated for their creativity, hard work and commitment to making a healthier and more beautiful Chicago.
The awards were presented in a ceremony at the Austin Town Hall auditorium. The place was packed, and the winners were, as usual, lovely, enthusiastic, happy people. The audience in the auditorium at Austin Town Hall showed great interest in the photos and descriptions of all the gardens. TOP: Award winners Tracie Worthy and Annamaria Leon
